I recently viewed Rich Anderson’s campaign Web site to see what he has to say about the issues. I watched a video on the site in which he and his wife sit together and discuss the problems facing us
today — unemployment, people losing their homes, etc.
That is what the entire video consists of — Mr. and Mrs. Anderson telling us they have been told what the problems are. In Mr. Anderson’s words, “We’re not finding the right solutions” and, “We haven’t
yet found the solutions in the General Assembly,” and while these words are spoken, the words “Real Solutions” is superimposed on the screen over the photos in the video. Then Mr. Anderson adds, “I
have a lot of optimism.” Then he states, “I want to be your delegate.”
Well that is very nice, Mr. Anderson; it is nice to hear that you have a lot of optimism. I don’t. Mostly because your Republican-controlled House of Delegates hasn’t found the solutions either.
The residents of the 51st district do not want to vote for someone who has heard the problems and just has a lot of optimism and would like to be our delegate in Richmond. I think they are more
interested in someone with solutions. Where are your real solutions? I did not hear one single solution or proposal in your video. Just comments about our current woes; no solutions — not even
suggestions!
I plan to vote for the reelection of Del. Paul Nichols — a man who has worked hard for his constituents and has proposed real solutions for our district, including his recommendation that we start planning
for Metro to Woodbridge and Potomac Mills — now!
