LETTER: View real news programming

»  Comments | Post a Comment

I would like to thank Mr. Leonard Pitts for the fine example of the liberal trend started, oh about one year ago, of attacking the messenger when they do not like the message. His “Counting the ways I
don’t trust Fox” piece was too cute.

I think there was something he didn’t like about the coverage on the Fox News Network regarding ACORN. I am not sure, however, as he did not seem to address the alleged, and widely reported,
wrongdoings of ACORN.

Instead, he proceeded to mention slipups by Fox News Network commentators, not news people. I would think if he were really concerned about news, he would have investigated the numerous
indictments of ACORN activities, rather than going on a shallow hunt for miscues by commentators speaking off the cuff.

Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity, amongst others, are commentators, not news people. Just as Tina Fey or Bill Maher are not news reporters, but perhaps, a comedian and a commentator. I did not notice
that Mr. Pitts called out Ms. Fey when she implied that Sarah Palin said “I can see Russia from my house,” or when Mr. Maher lied about her “apologize for being American” comment.

I would hope Mr. Pitts will one day realize there are news shows on the Fox News Network, not just News and Commentary. Hopefully, he will view real news programming on the Fox News Network and
see the news that is not being reported on the networks invested in the left.
