A portion of U. S. 1 in Woodbridge was reopened after a truck downed power lines at Neabsco Road this afternoon.

The crash happened shortly after 1 p.m. Wednesday, when a truck became entangled in low-hanging power lines over the four lane highway.

The incident closed both the north and southbound lanes of the U.S. 1, while rescue crews diverted drivers away from the live wires on the ground, said Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.

Police told drivers to use Blackburn and Neabsco Mills roads to get around the accident scene.

Officials with the Virginia Department of Transportation were called, along with repair crews from the electric company, to repair the affected traffic signal at the intersection, as well as the downed lines.

No one was injured in the crash.
