Hope to see you all at the eighth Annual Fall Festival, sponsored by the Town of Dumfries and the Dumfries-Triangle Rescue Squad, on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The festival will be held at Merchant Park (rain or shine). There will be free face painting, a moon bounce and a petting zoo. Crafter and vendor spaces are available. Contact the director of community services at 703-221-3400, Ext. 115 or choltzlander@dumfriesvirginia.org.

Also, plan on attending the 35th Annual Dumfries Holiday Parade on Dec. 12 at 1 p.m. The parade will be held rain, snow or shine unless weather conditions become unsafe.
If you are a Dumfries resident, volunteer to serve as a parade judge for this year's event? You must be at least 18 to participate. Contact Cathy Holtzlander at 703-221-3400, Ext. 115 or via e-mail at choltzlander@dumfriesvirginia.org.

Church group to host holiday craft show

On Nov. 7 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., the women of Dumfries United Methodist Church will host their annual holiday craft show at the church, 3890 Cameron St. in downtown Dumfries. The event will have on display beautiful and unique handmade and hand-painted items, all reasonably priced. The bake sale table will be loaded with homemade goodies - all made by the ladies of the church and some by the pastor. A "tasteful" white elephant table will feature small, once-loved treasures. The church choir will serve breakfast and lunch. The public is invited shop, have breakfast and stay for lunch. All proceeds support mission projects locally and around the world.
