The Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue on Monday night celebrated the promotion of 31 employees and welcomed two new ones at the Dr. A.J. Ferlazzo Building in Woodbridge.
The 7 p.m. ceremony was open to the public and honored new hires, as well as uniformed officers who were promoted to firefighter technician II, lieutenant, captain and battalion chief, stated fire and rescue spokeswoman Kim Hylander.
The department is made up of 506 members, both from career and volunteer members, who are charged with fighting fires and responding to disaster situations and medical emergencies throughout the county.
