LETTER: Paul Nichols avoided justice

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Delegate Paul Nichols joins the long line of Democrat politicians who seem to avoid justice at the hands of the law that we little people normally have to suffer. Dodd, Rangel and now Nichols.

We will get lost in a flurry of words like “alleged” and “not convicted” — but I don’t think that the 51st District needs a practicing frat boy for a delegate. While the legal concept of innocence until proven
guilty certainly applies, how many of you have had a spat with the local police in North Carolina?

How many of you have had your nose bloodied by the police? You haven’t because you conduct your life in a manner that avoids that sort of confrontation.

I think that Paul Nichols would be a fun guy to have at my next Super Bowl party, but I don’t think we should subsidize his partying in Richmond. Is it dirty politics to point that out? I don’t think so.
Perhaps public service and being in the public eye just isn’t his thing.
