GOP gubernatorial candidate Robert F. McDonnell spoke on issues including transportation, education and business at a morning stop in Manassas on Friday.
McDonnell, who faces Democrat R. Creigh Deeds in the Nov. 3 contest, addressed a crowd of about 300 at Micron Technology Inc. on Godwin Drive, said campaign spokeswoman Taylor Thornley.
The former state attorney general related some of his plans to fix Virginia's road gridlock, including voicing support for high-speed train service and high-occupancy toll lanes, Thornley said.
McDonnell also took questions from the audience and spoke on education. Micron -- which makes memory chips, including those used in cell phones, notebook computers and mobile music and video players -- supports schools by assisting with the state-mandated Standards of Learning curricula.
In addition, the candidate joked to workers that Micron should move its corporate headquarters from Boise, Idaho, to the Old Dominion, Thornley said.
