A Woodbridge boy faces a sexual battery charge after two women told police they were attacked near U.S. 1 in Fairfax County earlier this month.
A 17-year-old girl reported she was walking behind a building in the 7700 block of Richmond Highway about 8:35 a.m. on Oct. 13. She heard someone running behind her, stated a Fairfax police spokesman.
The girl turned around and the man grabbed her, touched her inappropriately and tugged on her clothes. The girl screamed and was able to break free, the spokesman said.
At 1 p.m. the same day, police said the boy grabbed a 27-year-old woman in the 7800 block of Parrot Place, near U.S. 1, and then rummaged through her belongings.
The woman suffered injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening.
A break in the case came about 8:35 a.m. Tuesday when a police officer saw a person fitting the description of the suspect provided in both assault cases. The officer stopped him in the 7700 block of U.S. 1 and arrested him.
He was held at the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center. In addition to sexual bat-tery, the teenager was charged with attempted robbery and abduction with intent to defile.
