Dodge might fancy its product line as "ram tough," but even the automaker might agree that its vehicles aren't meant for what a 2004 Durango went through Friday.
A man was driving a Durango on Woodside Drive in Woodbridge just before 7:30 p.m. when he got stuck in a ditch, said Prince William County police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.
He got out of the ditch, she said, but went through the side and back yards of 1602 Woodside. Then he continued moving, ramming the fence of 14684 Colchester Road, striking the back porch and a shed.
He wasn't done. The driver split the fence at 14514 Colchester, Hernandez said, and struck an above-ground pool and patio furniture.
Finally, the Durango stopped after striking the fence of 14512 Colchester, she said.
Harold L. Payne Jr., 44, of 1643 Woodside, was not injured but was charged with driving under the influence and with unreasonable refusal to submit to a blood or breath test. He is out on $3,000 bond and is due in court Oct. 5.
