Wreaths across America
Since 1992, Morrill Worcester, a wreath maker from Harrington, Maine, has donated and placed 5,000 wreaths each year on headstones at Arlington National Cemetery. For many years this has been an annual mission for the Worcester family and in 2005 a picture of those wreaths circulated on the internet. In 2006, a non-profit group WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA was formed to see that this event emulated at other National and State Veteran's Cemeteries.
Dec. 12 has been designated as National Wreaths Across America Day. You or your business or the organization you belong to may participate in several ways. Access Wreaths AcrossAmerica.org for further information or contact the American Legion Post 364 at 703-398-7181.
