It was pure arrogance for (Republican) Bill Bolling’s campaign to cancel his debate with (Democrat) Jody Wagner, ostensibly because they were concerned about someone using . . . OMG . . .VIDEO . . .
to record what both candidates might actually say!
Heaven forbid letting voters ask candidates for public office what their views and opinions are! Alternatively, was his campaign requiring that nobody be allowed to videotape the debate? Whoa! What about
our First Amendment rights there, buddy? Trivial things like, you know, free speech? Oh, I forgot. For far right-wing conservatives (i.e., McDonnell and Bolling), constitutional rights only apply to those who
talk of SOCIAL issues, such as gays, guns and God.
In truth, I think the campaign was afraid of a George Allen “Macaca moment.” Or maybe even being asked to either defend or deny his far-right running mate’s 1989 Masters thesis. Bob McDonnell is in no
way, a “moderate Republican.” He is as far-right as Bolling and as his thesis espouses.
That’s why McDonnell and Bolling are running mates. Their opinions are exactly the same. Either way, the Bolling campaign arrogantly denied PWC voters the opportunity to actually hear and question
BOTH CANDIDATES on their views and opinions. Shameful.
