LETTER: Clarifying loitering letter

»  Comments | Post a Comment

My letter about loitering published Sept. 9 piqued curiosity. If you followed the story properly, you are aware of the ACLU suing Prince William County after four men were arrested last week while
standing outside of a dwelling for loitering.

The News & Messenger previously reported that the four men arrested happened to be Hispanic. Let it be known that in my letter that age, race, color, disability or origin of the people I described was not
mentioned. More concerning of a question for Prince William County taxpayers would be, “Is the ACLU going to intervene every time a police officer in Prince William County makes an arrest on a person
or group of people who loiter?
