Chapman's/Beverley Mill participated in the Warrenton/Fauquier County Heritage Day Saturday.

Brian Noyes of the Red Truck Bakery in Warrenton donated 44 loaves of sunflower and cranberry bread to the cause. He also designed a special label with a photo and brief history of the mill. All 44 loaves were gone by 3 p.m.

Volunteers April Bruhl and Jeff Wright carried a banner of the mill in the parade accompanied by the applause of the observers.

In the afternoon the weather had turned rainy, but that didn't stop a number of dedicated visitors who enjoyed tours of the mill and listening to Colonial period music provided by costumed members of the Culpeper Minute Men Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution Color Guard. Dennis Loba, who portrayed Lt. Gov. Francis Fauquier in Fauquier County's 250th parade, was resplendent in his wig and breeches.

The Turn the Mill Around Campaign extends its gratitude to the event's organizer, Paula Johnson, and to those others who worked so hard to make this event a success.
