"Taxed Enough Already" activists are holding a rally Thursday, the day of the Internal Revenue Service's April 15 tax filing deadline.
TEA Party activists are sponsoring the public gathering from noon to 2 p.m. at the McCoart Administration Center in Woodbridge to "send a message to Congress and [the] president to let them know that 'We the people' have not given them the power to do whatever they please," according to a flier from the Prince William Tea Party Patriots.
Several speakers are scheduled, including former U.S. Sen. George Allen; Chairman of the Board of County Supervisors Corey Stewart; Rich Neilson, with the attorney general's office in Richmond; Ben Marchi, with Americans for Prosperity; Ted Kirkpatrick, with Campaign for Liberty; and Bob Adney, with Americans for Limited Government.
Stewart, according to Nancy Schiffman, who chairs the local Tea Party group, will address the efffects of the federal health care mandate and Medicaid coverage requirements on the local budget. Nielson will speak about Virginia's lawsuit against the federal government.
