»  Comments | Post a Comment

Funeral arrangements have been made for the nun killed in a crash on Bristow Road on Sunday.

The body of Benedictine Sister Denise Mosier, 66, will be taken to the Benedictine monastery on Linton Hall Road early Thursday morning, sisters there said.

A wake will be held at the monastery at 7 p.m. Thursday and a funeral Mass will be held there on Friday at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ministries of the Benedictine Sisters of Virginia. Cards can be sent to the Benedictine Sisters of Virginia, 9535 Linton Hall Road, Bristow, Va. 20136.

Two other nuns, 75-year-old Sister Charlotte Lange and 70-year-old Connie Ruth Lupton were seriously injured in Sunday's crash and remained in critical but stable condition at Inova Fairfax Hospital on Tuesday, sisters said.

The Benedictine Sisters are currently holding a 24-hour prayer vigil at the hospital.

"Prayers are requested and appreciated, but visitors are not allowed at this time," said a message posted on the Benedictine Sisters of Virginia's website Tuesday afternoon. "Please also pray for the driver of the other vehicle and for his family."
