HAYMARKET, VA. - Residents who want to help determine the future of Haymarket will have their chance on Saturday.
The town council and staff members will hold a "Vision Meeting," open to the public at the Haymarket Town Hall, 15000 Washington St. at 1:30 p.m.
The topic of discussion will be the town's priorities for the next two years.
A list of recommended priorities for the town that will be discussed includes everything from renovating the town hall building to annexing nearby properties to add more land to the town, to installing pedestrian lights on Washington and Jefferson streets.
Other items to be discussed are repairing and reopening the Haymarket museum, cleaning up the industrial areas in the town, installing new signs for town historic areas, designing a town emergency plan and hold-ing more events in the town.
The town is also considering some steps to help businesses in the town, including improving marketing about town events, moving the town's summer concert series closer to businesses and creating an online business directory.
Last month, town officials held a meeting with area business owners to get their ideas on how the town could help businesses.
