Manssas, Va. - The Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative, Manassas, received five Awards for Publication Excellence (APEX) recently from Communications Concepts, Inc. and an award for "outstanding achievement in custom media" from Magnum Opus and the Missouri School of Journalism.
The awards recognize overall communications excellence in writing, graphic design, electronic media and public service campaigns.
APEX winners came from a pool of moe than 3,700 entries from around the world. Winners include Bank of America, CBS and the NFL Super Bowl XLIV program.
Magnum Opus winner were selected from more than 550 international entries. Winners include Proctor and Gamble, Marriott Hotel and the Walk Disney Company.
APEX award winners were:
• Nina Cosgriff, graphic designer--NOVEC's 2009 annual meeting PowerPoint presentation.
• Priscilla Knight, communications specialist--"Green" Writing.
• John Roy, communications specialist, along with NOVEC's website team--Most Improved Web and Intranet Site
• Donna Snellings, public relations liaison, and NOVEC Hands Engaged in Local Public Service--Public Service Campaign.
• NOVEC's Public Service division--communication plan to promote the NOVEC Load Management Program.
Magnum Opus Award Winner:
• Knight--"Green" Series on Energy-Efficient Homes.
NOVEC is a not-for-profit corporation that distributes electricity and energy service to about 144,000 customers.
