A brothel on Yoder Street in Manassas served as many as 100 customers a month, until police arrested the man suspected of running it this week, according to court documents.
Shane Taylor, 42, of 8555 Yoder St. in Manassas, was charged with receiving earnings from a prostitute after police executed a search warrant at his house early Monday morning.
According to court documents, Yoder bought the house in the summer and “has been operating an extensive prostitution business which can satisfy up to 100 paying customers per month” since then.
The two-story house is in a residential area off Oakenshaw Drive in Manassas.
According to city land records, Taylor purchased the 1,772-square-foot house for $283,250 on June 28. The house has three bedrooms, three and a half baths and a garage, according to the land records.
Taylor’s wife told police about the prostitution on Saturday, according to a search warrant affidavit on file in Prince William Circuit Court.
Taylor advertised the business on websites such as backpage.com and yahoo.com, the affidavit states.
Potential customers would contact Taylor and were provided “a price and instructions on when and where to meet,” police said in the court document.
Taylor employed five or six female prostitutes, the affidavit states.
Taylor kept his house under 24-hour surveillance using a video camera, the affidavit states.
During the search, police seized computer monitors, speakers, CDs, four clocks with cameras, a night vision cameras, plasma televisions, iPods, a digital hard drive and other computer and camera equipment, according to court records.
