Congratulations to senior basketball player Che Brown who scored her 1,000th career point in a game against Colonial Beach High School on Jan. 11. She is a four-year starter on the basketball team and becomes only the fifth 1,000-point scorer in school history and the first girls' basketball player to do so.
She was honored in front of a packed gym with a short ceremony after she scored her 1,000th point and was presented a personalized basketball by Manassas Park high School principal Tracy Shaver.

Forum on the Future
On Wednesday at 10 a.m., LLI- Manassas will hold a forum titled "Future Plans for PWC-2030." Paul Moesssner, citizen and community activist, will moderate a panel of local county experts who will review the process and results of the Prince William 2030 Study, developed by the board of supervisors and an appointed citizen's task force called the Futures Commission.
The forum is will be at Colgan Hall on the Manassas Campus of the Northern Virginia Community College, 6901 Sudley Road.
LLI is a non-profit organization that offers daytime and early evening classes, speaker forums for the public, social activities and special events during the spring and fall semesters for senior adults. More detailed information is available at www.lli-manassas.org
Singing valentines
Continuing a highly popular tradition in recent years, BRT Barbershop Quartets will again deliver surprise Singing Valentines throughout Prince William County in response to orders from spouses, sweethearts, admirers or friends who want that special and unusual touch for the occasion.
The quartets will arrive unannounced at the office, home or other requested location and sing two popular sweetheart songs in the barbershop style and present a Valentine card, a silk rose and a keepsake picture of the event to the recipients.
Valentines will be delivered on Feb. 12 and Feb. 13.
The cost of the package is $50, a portion of which is donated to the Prince William County charities ACTS and SERVE.
