Woman, 70, faces brandishing weapon charge

A 70-year-old woman is charged with pointing a long-barrel gun at someone who was clearing snow from a street, police said.

Officers were called to the 10200 block of Cub Run Court near Manassas about 11:15 a.m. Saturday after witnesses say the woman pointed the weapon, said Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.

Jennie Elizabeth Scott of 10298 Cub Run Drive was charged with brandishing a firearm.

No one was injured.

Scott was held on $32,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court March 29.

Dale City man, 55, charged in beating

A Lake Ridge man is accused of beating a 51-year-old man during an argument Wednesday.

Officers were called to the 3500 block of Legere Court about 10:15 p.m., where they found a man suffering from extensive wounds on his face, said Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.

John Alexander Collins, 55, was charged with malicious wounding and was held without bond. His court date was not released.

The victim was treated at a local hospital.

Clifton man faces weapon charges

A Clifton man was charged with possession of a concealed weapon and with driving on a suspended license after he was pulled over by police on Sunday.

Matthew David Carter, 24, of 7516 Quiqq St. was stopped in the 7800 block of Va. 28 near Manassas at 10:37 a.m., said Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.

Carter was held on $2,000 bond. His court date was not released.

Woman charged with stealing prescription meds

A 21-year-old woman is charged with larceny with intent to sell and distribute after police said she broke into a pharmacy in the 5900 block of McGraws Corner Drive in Gainesville.

Officers were called to the pharmacy at 6:48 p.m. Monday for a report of missing prescription medication, hydrocodone.

Natalia Kathleen Salinas of 14720 Demming Drive in Gainesville was arrested on the charge, said Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.

Salinas stole the pills and sold them, said Hernandez.

She was held on $2,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court March 23.

Manassas area man faces drugs charges

A Manassas area man is charged with possession of marijuana and ecstasy after police pulled him over about 4:15 a.m. Saturday in the area of Claremont and Spotsylvania streets near Manassas.

Omari Timothy Sonnie, 18, of 9416 Corey Drive was arrested on the charges.

Sonnie had the drugs inside his car when he was pulled over, said Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.

Sonnie was held on $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court March 17.

Man charged with cocaine possession

A Manassas man was charged with cocaine possession after he was stopped by a police officer for having defective equipment on his car.

Dionte Dreenaro was stopped in the area of Old Centerville Road and Yorkshire Lane in Manassas Park at 1:10 a.m. Monday.

Stephen was also found to be wanted by Fairfax police for failure to appear in court on a possession of marijuana charge, said a police spokeswoman. Stephens was also charged with possession of a controlled substance in Fairfax, she added.

Stephens was held on a $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court April 8.

'98 Toyota stolen while keys inside

The keys may have been left inside a 1998 Toyota Camry that was stolen between 5:30 p.m. Saturday and 8:30 a.m. Sunday from the 100 block of Yost Street, said a Manassas Park police spokeswoman.

The car, valued at $5,000, has 4-doors, is beige in color, has a sunroof and Virginia license tags YNK-9659.

Police investigating credit card fraud

Police said credit card number obtained by someone in New York was unlawfully used at least five times between Feb. 11 and 14.

The victim has the card and did not make any purchases with it during those days, said a Manassas Park police spokeswoman.
