In addition to your Dec. 23 editorial "Stop traffic -- telecommute" article, an additional thought. I work for the federal government and have used a 10 hour, four day week for many years, and it has worked out very well.
If more people would use this method along with telecommuting, I think it would have a great impact on the daily traffic jams. Employees need to be more pro-active in obtaining these options. Four years ago I was turned down, but through persistence I was allowed a trial run with no problems found. I believe this could help eliminate a whole lot of this insane road building, and three days off a week is great.
