Kaine gives his final State of the Commonwealth speech Wednesday night
Gov. Timothy M. Kaine will deliver his final State of the Commonwealth address at 7 p.m. tonight to a joint session of the General Assembly in the House of Delegates chamber.
The speech will be telecast live by public television station WCVE.
The speech is traditionally made on the first day of the General Assembly session. The 60-day session begins today at noon.
Gov.-elect Bob McDonnell will succeed Kaine as governor at noon Saturday in an inaugural ceremony that will feature a parade and speeches.
He will speak to the assembly Monday at 7 p.m. His speech also will be televised by WCVE.
