Join the Prince William Committee of 100 and panelists as they discuss the proposed environmental portion of the county's comprehensive land-use plan.
The January program, "Is PWC's Proposed Environmental Chapter a Tool or a Barrier to Progress?" will include discussions on what the chapter means for developers and residents, how it will affect the Chesapeake Bay, and ways to preserve the environment and natural resources while promoting economic growth.
Speakers will be Charlie Grymes, chairman of the Prince William Conservation Alliance's board, and Michael Kitchen, director of design for christopher consultants ltd. Rob Hartwell of Hartwell Capitol Consulting will moderate.
The event will be held Thursday at the Four Points by Sheraton near Interstate 66 outside Manassas.

Healthy horses, bay seminar
Care about healthy horses and clean water? Register by Thursday for the Prince William Soil and Water Conservation District's "Healthy Horses and a Healthier Chesapeake Bay" seminar on Jan. 28.
The event will feature guest speaker Alayne Blickle of Washington state-based Horses for Clean Water.
Topics will include mud and runoff management, information on the Chesapeake Bay-Friendly Horse Farm Project, whys and ways to slowly feed hay and common conservation practices.
The seminar will be held at the MARE Center, 5527 Sullivans Mill Road in Middleburg, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The cost is $15, which includes coffee, lunch, raffle prizes and handouts.
