FREE COLLEGE FINANCIAL AID ASSISTANCE OFFERED DURING SUPER SATURDAY February 13, 2010
Stonewall Jackson High School and the Virginia Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (VASFAA) will host Super Saturday on Saturday, February 13, 2010 from 10:00AM 1:00PM at 8820 Rixlew Lane Manassas, VA.
Super Saturday is VASFAAs annual service project at which individuals seeking funding for postsecondary education can receive free one-on-one assistance in completing the federal financial aid form, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is the form used by colleges, universities and career-technical schools across the country to determine eligibility for student federal financial aid.
There will be two financial aid workshops (one at 10:30 AM, one at 12 noon) that explain the federal and state financial aid process. Computers will be available for students and parents to apply for federal aid electronically, along with volunteer financial aid experts to assist.
A $100 Book Scholarship will be awarded to one student at each Super Saturday site to be used at the winners college of choice during the 2010-11 academic year.
Please bring the following documents: PIN number*, social security numbers, driver's license, 2009 W-2 forms, 2009 federal income tax return, list of untaxed income, current bank and investment records, and alien registration or permanent resident card if applicable.
*Parents and students are advised to request their PIN (Personal Identification Number) electronically at www.pin.ed.gov
