From police: Shizuko Morley has been found safe and reunited with her family after police were conducting door-to-door checks through the neighborhood. Morley was found in the backyard of a neighbor’s residence near her own residence on Wheelwright Way. She was evaluated by rescue workers as a precaution.
HAYMARKET, Va. -- Police are searching for an 87-year-old woman who went missing this morning.
Shizuko Morley was alone when she left her house in 5600 block of Wheelwright Way in Haymarket, about 7:30 a.m., said Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok.
Investigators are concerned because the woman suffers from dementia, he added.
She is described as Asian, 4 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 83 pounds, with brown eyes and gray hair.
She was last seen wearing a pink tank top, dark pants and white shoes.
Morley's disappearance comes after the National Weather Service today issued a high heat advisory for Prince William County.
Temperatures are expected to soar into the triple digits this afternoon.
