Tips offered for adopting furry pet

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Manassas, Va. - Looking to adopt a pet?

A local Girl Scout is hosting a "Prepare for a Pet" program on Tuesday, giving tips on what the first-time perspective pet owner needs to know about adding a furry member to the family.

For her Gold Award project, Michelle Clark is hosting the program on Tuesday at 630 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church, 8712 Plantation Lane, Manassas.

"My goal is to inform pet owners about the costs and responsibilities of caring for an animal, and to thereby have fewer animals returned to shelters or let loose," said Clark.

Expert speakers such as Manassas Animal Shelter employees and an animal control officer will explain everything from the adoption process to local laws and regulations of pet ownership.

For more information contact Clark at 703 895-82263.
