» Friday, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.: Winery at La Grange, 4970 Antioch Road, Haymarket, is holding a chili and wine night. Price is $15 and includes chili and one glass of wine. Reservations are required. Call 703-753-9360.

» Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.: There will be a used media sale to raise money for the Gainesville Neighborhood Library at Battlefield High School, 15000 Graduation Drive, Haymarket. The event will also include a chili cook-off featuring food from local restaurants.

» Saturday, 4:30 to 8 p.m.: St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 8538 Greenwich Road, Catlett, is holding a chili cook-off. Prizes will be given for the top three chilis.

» Wednesday, March 10, 8 p.m.: The Bull Run Republican Women's Club is holding an educational presentation by Lord Christopher Monckton, "The Truth About Global Warming."
