Ready for some golf?
One of the first tournaments for area foursomes will be the annual Polar Bear Scramble Golf Outing on March 24 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Evergreen Country Club, 15900 Berkeley Drive in Haymarket.
The event, originally scheduled for March 10 but pushed back two weeks to allow the course to dry out, is sponsored by the Prince William County-Greater Manassas Chamber of Commerce.
The new snow date will be March 31.
A portion of the proceeds from this event are used to fund the chamber’s annual scholarship awards to area senior high school students.
The tournament consists of a nine-hole, captain’s choice game, with a maximum of three clubs plus putter per player and players may not share clubs. Novices are invited to play since two flight are being offered.
The $80 per player fee includes lunch, practice range, golf with cart, a reception with heavy hors d’oeuvres, beverages, raffles and prizes.
