American Legion Posts 1799 in Haymarket, 10 in Manassas, 364 in Woodbridge, and 28 in Dumfries/Quantico, along with 40&8 Voitures 1569 in Fairfax and 380 in Bull Run have again banded together to introduce first-grade students from Prince William County to the Pledge of Allegiance and a history of the U.S. Flag.
This is the fifth year the program has been provided to all Prince William County schools, all Manassas City schools, two Department of Defense elementary schools on Quantico Marine Corps base and All Saints Elementary School in Manassas.
Last year the program was provided to 5,953 first graders and it should reach 6,000 this year. After the presentation, each student receives a U.S. Flag.
