Stafford felon faces gun possession charge
During a traffic stop, a Prince William County police officer arrested a 20-year-old Stafford man and charged him with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Tyron Daishawn Brown of 205 Hatchers Run Court was stopped by police about 1:50 p.m. Feb. 25 in the 13900 block of Jefferson Davis Highway in Woodbridge, said Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.Brown is being held without bond and his court date is April 15.
Dale City man faces cocaine, marijuana charges
A Dale City man was arrested and charged with drug offenses while Prince William police were investigat-ing an unrelated incident in the 5700 block of Northton Court in Dale City.
Antonio Jamar Bennett, 28, of 5740 Northton Court, was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession of marijuana about 3:30 p.m. Feb. 24, said Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.Bennett was held in lieu of a $3,500 bond and his court date is April 15.
Woodbridge woman uses fake prescription
A Woodbridge woman tried using a fake prescription to obtain painkillers from a pharmacy in the 2400 block of Prince William Parkway around 1:50 p.m. Feb. 24, police said.
Delaine Nancy Taylor, 41, of 12192 Presidio Way, was arrested and charged with prescription forgery by Prince William County police, said Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.Taylor was released on a $5,000 bond and her court date is April 27.
Area men arrested for their roles in fight
A pair of Manassas roommates were arrested for their roles in a fight Feb. 21, according to Prince William County police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.
Melvin Obdulio Gonzales, 21, of 10914 Coverstone Drive, Apt. B4, was arrested on charges of assault and battery while Elfido Benjamin Flores Situn was arrested for abduction.
The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. in the 10900 unit of Coverstone Drive in the Manassas area. Patrol officers responded to investigate a fight in progress call.
When the officers arrived, they found Gonzales laying face down on the sidewalk with his hands bound behind his back.
The investigation revealed that Gonzales and his girlfriend were arguing. Situn intervened and Gonzales punched him. Both men began fighting.
Gonzales returned and continued fighting. Finally Situn tied up Gonzales and forced him out of the apart-ment. Gonzales was kicked out of the apartment by Situn on more than one occasion, police said.Both men were held without bond and have a court date of April 5.
Man contributes to delinquency of minor
A Woodbridge man was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor on Feb. 20.
Christopher Keith Kellen, 18, of 11981 Hedges Run Drive, is accused of persuading a 17-year old boy from Woodbridge to leave his house after curfew to go to a party. The juvenile did not have permission to be out of his house and was also charged with curfew violation.
The juvenile was released to a parent and will have a hearing in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. Kellen was released on a summons and has a court date.
The incident occurred about 1:30 a.m. in the area of Cardinal Drive and Donald Curtis Drive in Wood-bridge.
Man, 30, charged with making threats
A 30-year-old Woodbridge man is charged with making threats and making threatening phone calls after police said he called and used a cell phone to send text messages to a family member, threatening to burn her house down.
Shane Michael Wingo, 30, of 1410 E St., was arrested about 2:30 p.m. Feb. 23 on the charges.
Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez said the threats were made the day before.
Wingo's court date was not released.
Man charged with cocaine possession
A man who was wanted by police for failing to appear in a Fairfax court on a marijuana charge was stopped in Manassas Park and later charged with possession of cocaine.
Dionte Dreenaro Stephens, 22, of 7494 Princess Carol Court in Manassas, was arrested on the charge, a Manassas Park police spokeswoman stated.
Stephens was held in lieu of a $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court April 8.
Three brothers attacked by armed man
Three brothers were getting their car when a man jumped on the hood and smashed a car window.
The victims, ages 19, 20 and 26, from Woodbridge, were walking to their parked car in the area of Nimes Court and Stockholm Way in Dumfries about 10:25 p.m. Feb. 28 when they noticed three men standing on a nearby street corner, said Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.
One of those men approached the victims as they were getting into the car, brandished a firearm and then jumped on the car's hood.
The victims flagged down a patrol car, but by the time the officer arrived the man was gone, said Hernan-dez. No one was injured.
Police are searching for a black man, between 20 and 30 years old. During the attack, he was wearing black clothes and had a thick beard.
Man charged after crashing into boulder
A Falls Church man was charged with felony eluding and possession of stolen property after he crashed a car into a boulder.
The incident began when a police officer saw what he deemed to be suspicious activity by a group of peo-ple standing by a car in the area of Prince William Parkway and U.S. 1 about 1:30 a.m. Feb. 28 and then went to investigate, said Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.
When the officer approached the car, the driver took off at a high rate of speed and the office pursued him. Moments later, the driver struck a utility pole and then crashed into a boulder, said Hernandez.
The driver got out of the car and the officer pursued him on foot. The driver was later found hiding between kennels behind an animal hospital, said Hernandez.
Levy Donta'e Daugherty, 20, of 3110 Wayne Road in Falls Church, was arrested on the charges. Police said he was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Impala that had been reported stolen from Fairfax County. He was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court March 23.
Police continue to search for the three other men who were with Daugherty.
Man faces property destruction charge
A Dumfries man was charged with felony property destruction and was accused of causing $1,000 in dam-age to a 2003 Ford Mustang that was parked in front of a Manassas area home.
The victim, who lives in the 16800 block of Toms River Loop, said he heard a noise outside his house about 1:30 a.m. Thursday. He went outside and saw his car's windshield had been shattered, its headlights broken and scratches on the trunk, said Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernan-dez.
He called police, and when they arrived, an officer noticed a car leaving the scene. That officer stopped the driver, 39-year-old Francisco Bonilla, of 16837 Toms River Loop, and arrested him.
Bonilla was held without bond and is scheduled to appear in court April 6.
Massage business reports burglary attempt
An attempted statutory burglary occurred March 1 about 3:15 p.m. at the Magical Touch Massage, 1549 Old Bridge Road.
The business owner reported the suspect tried to force the locked door to the entrance of the business. The victim opened a window, yelled at him and he tried to hit her, police said.
He did not get in and nothing was taken. The suspect is described as a light-complexioned black man, 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds.
He had shoulder-length corn rows and a thin beard. He was wearing a navy blue long-sleeved shirt, a black vest and black pants.
Store clerk reports armed robbery
An armed robbery occurred on Feb. 21 about 8:15 p.m. at a store in the 8400 block of Sudley Road.
The store clerk reported that she had closed the store and was getting ready to leave when she heard noises in the rear of the building. The clerk called two friends who were waiting for her in front of the store to give her a ride.
All three went to investigate and were encountered by an armed man. The robber forced them into an office and demanded money.
The clerk complied and the robber left through the rear of the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. The clerk and her friends were not injured during the robbery.
The robber is described as a black male, approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans and a black ski mask.
