LAKE RIDGE, Va. -- Two men forced their way into a Lake Ridge home Thursday, attacked a mother and demanded drugs as her three small children napped.
Police say they had the wrong house.
The home invasion happened about 12:40 p.m. in the 12100 block of Presidio Way, off Cotton Mill Drive.
The 29-year-old victim told police she heard noises coming from the rear of her house and went down to investigate.
She was confronted by two men who had kicked in a rear, ground-level door and forced their way into the townhouse, said Prince William County police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.
They then forced the woman into an upstairs bedroom and made her lie on the floor. After demanding drugs, and searching the house without finding any, they left.
The victim and her children – a 3-week-old baby girl, a 2-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy – were not injured.
Officers flooded the area in search of the two men, but did not find the culprits.
The woman described them only as black and wearing dark clothes.
