Join families at the Potomac Library for "Holy National Library Week, Batman!" on April 10 at 2 p.m. The event is being held during "National Library Week"and the Caped Crusader himself will be there, as well as other favorite superheroes, including librarians.

Don't miss out on the comic book-themed games and activities, and don't forget to bring your camera to capture a picture of the masked man himself. This program is for all ages.

Pick up free tickets for this program beginning March 27. A ticket will be required for each child participat-ing. You may pick up no more than five tickets. Spaghetti dinner

It's back! The 24th annual spaghetti dinner hosted by Cokesbury United Methodist Church will be held March 20 in the fellowship hall.

Meals will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. and include salad, rolls, beverages and dessert. The spaghetti sauce is prepared by several Cokesbury cooks. Enjoy this delicious meal with your family for only $7 per person or $3 for children between the ages of 3 and 11. Children younger than age 3 get in free.

The church is across from the Woodbridge post office on Reddy Road. Please enter through the upper entrance.

Neighborhood conference

Prince William County and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park will host the third annual neighbor-hood conference on March 27 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the PWC Government Center, One County Com-plex Court, Woodbridge.

It will be a day full of community maintenance information, skill-building sessions and exhibitors who can help you with neighborhood issues.

Rippon Middle step show on March 20

Rippon Middle School's step team will host a step show on March 20 in the school gymnasium starting at 3 p.m. Area middle schools will compete. Rippon's PTSO will sell refreshments. Tickets cost $7 for adults and $5 for students with a valid school ID. Children younger than 5 are admitted free of charge.

Woodbridge Woman's Club Scholarships

The Woodbridge Woman's Club is offering four $1,500 scholarships to students chosen from among the six public high schools in Woodbridge: Forest Park, Freedom, Gar-Field, Hylton, Potomac and Wood-bridge.

Students eligible to apply must be graduating seniors who have been accepted and plan to pursue college studies in the fall. Application packets are available in the guidance office of each high school. The com-pleted packets must be returned to the guidance offices no later than April 16.

AAUW meeting

The Woodbridge Branch of the American Association of University Women will hold its next meeting March 17 at 7 p.m. at Potomac Place. In recognition of Women's History Month, Alice Reagan, professor of women's studies at NVCC, will present a topic on women's history.

Since 1881, AAUW has been a leading voice for advancing equity for women and girls through education and research. Any person holding an associate's degree or higher is eligible for membership. Word processing basics

If you are interested in learning the fundamentals of word processing, Potomac Library is offering a free, hands-on, two-part word processing class April 1 and 8 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The first class, Word I, will cover how to open, close and save a document, and how to add, delete and move text.

The second class, Word II, will build on the knowledge already gained with additional instruction about margins, type, color and other features of the program.

Experience for signing up for this free class is minimal, but all students must be able to attend both ses-sions, be able to type and know how to use a mouse. Due to limited space, registration is required either in person, at the library or by phone. Registration begins March 18. These classes fill quickly, so register as soon as possible.

A $10 deposit is required to secure a place in these free classes. The deposit will be returned to participants who attend both sessions.To register for this program, visit Potomac Community Library, 2201 Opitz Blvd., or call 703- 494-8126 (voice).
