BRISTOW, Va. -- Police are investigating the attempted abduction of 16-year-old girl as she headed for school Monday morning.

The victim arrived for class at 7 a.m. and reported to the school resource officer that a masked man attacked her as she left her house 20 minutes earlier in the 9600 block of Saybrooke Drive, said Prince William County police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.

The girl told police that she walked out of her house to get to the bus when a man grabbed her arm and forced her back into the house.

She told officers that she screamed and the family dog started barking, scaring the man away.

The girl was not injured.

The man was black, dressed in black clothes and wore a ski mask. He had Air Jordon sneakers and carried a black back pack.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 703-792-6500.
