Love My Library campaign
The Prince William Public Library System's annual Love My Library campaign is under way.
This is the sixth year for the campaign in which branches and neighborhood libraries display heart-themed cards with titles of books, music CDs and DVDs that the library could use in its collection.
Library users simply select and fill out one of the displayed cards, then give the card and either cash or a check to the circulation staff. In return, donors receive a reusable Love My Library bag that features art work by local architect and artist Paul Econa. In addition, a unique Love My Library book plate with the honoree and donor's name will be placed in the item selected. Items may be donated in honor of or in memory of an individual or group.
In the 2009 Love My Library campaign, 769 items were donated, representing $7,417 worth of materials. This year's campaign ends April 17, which is also the last day of National Library Week. For more information, please contact your local library or call 703-792-6100.
Until next week.
