Prince William County, Va. - Sometimes it takes small steps to make a big difference.
That's why a local group of clubs is organizing a walk that is open to the public to benefit two Prince William County community organizations: ACTS and SERVE, Inc.
The event will take place behind the Boys and Girls Club of Manassas from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 10, Kiwanis One Day, the club's day of community service.
Participants will be able to walk for any distance they choose in a scenic park-like setting. Throughout the day there will also be family fun, food and entertainment. All of the proceeds will stay locally, to be split evenly between the two nonprofit groups.
A donation of $10 is suggested with higher donations welcome. To register, go to www.kiwaniswalk.org.
Organizers of the walk include members of the Battlefield Kiwanis Club, the Kiwanis Club of Manassas, the Kiwanis Club of Woodbridge, the Circle K Club of NVCC-Woodbridge and the Key Club of Battlefield High School.
