I Manassas Park, Va. - In Manassas park....

Northern Virginia Community College and Didlake are collaborating on an art exhibition featuring artwork created by Didlake employees.

"Celebrating All Abilities" will be on display at NOVA's Innovation Park location from Wednesday to May 13. Innovation Park, 9485 Innovation Drive in Manassas, is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

An opening reception, free and open to the public, is Wednesday from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Headquartered in Manassas, Didlake is a nonprofit corporation founded in 1965 to create opportunities for people with disabilities through services that connect them to employment, education and the community. Didlake provides contract business services for commercial and government customers and has won numerous awards for its facilities maintenance, packaging/assembly, and administrative services.

Rabies vaccination

The Prince William SPCA is sponsoring a low-cost rabies vaccination and microchip clinic Sunday at VCA Healthy PAWS Medical Center, 14840 Washington St., Haymarket. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The costs will be $15 for a rabies vaccination (comes with a free medical exam) and $20 for a Home Again microchip (includes registration). No pre-registration is needed. Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis. Call 703-754-4146 with questions.

Flashlight egg hunt

Pre-registration and payment are required for the Flashlight Egg Hunt on April 2. This is for ages 8 to 11 at Signal Hill Park. The rain location will be the Manassas Park Community Center. The cost is $5 per person. Bring your camera for pictures with the Bunny. There will be games and prizes for the kids. The times are: 8- and 9-year-olds at 7 p.m. and 10- and 11-year-olds at 7:15 p.m.

Annual egg hunt

The Annual Egg Hunt will be April 3 for ages1 to 7 at Signal Hill Park. The rain location will be Manassas Park Community Center. The cost is $5 per person. Games and prizes will be available for the kids. You need to pre-register, and payment is required. The times are: 1 and under is at 10 a.m., 2- to 3-year-olds at 10:15 a.m., 4- to 5-year-olds at 10:30 a.m., and 6- to 7-year-olds at 11 a.m. You can register at the Manassas Park Community Center, 99 Adams St. For more information, contact: t.polk@manassasparkva.gov. or at (703) 335-8872.

On Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon, enjoy witnessing governance at work while learning more about the future vision for our county. Participate in the follow-on questions and answers to have your good ideas resound on Prince William County growth and improvement.

A reception with the speakers precedes the lecture in the vestibule of Colgan Theater, NVCC Campus, 6901 Sudley Road. (Use event parking.)

Preschool open house

Bethel Lutheran Preschool is having an open house Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon. They offer two and three day-a-week classes for three year olds and three and five day-a-week classes for 4-year-olds. At the open house, parents may tour the school and observe classes. Silver Lake needs a plan

The Prince William County Park Authority will hold a public meeting Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., to get public input on the Master Plan for Silver Lake Regional Park, located at 16198 Silver Lake Road, Haymarket.

The meeting will be at the Park Authority Administration Headquarters Building at George Hellwig Memorial Park, 14420 Bristow Road. Interested residents will find details of three proposed master plans on the Web site at www.pwcparks.org under Park Development, Master Plan Community Meetings.

Kelsey Ohleger, a Manassas native and Osbourn High School 2007 graduate, is hoping to get a summer job promoting tourism on the Delmarva Peninsula through Host Our Coast.
