Illegal immigrant charged in near-deadly Woodbridge stabbing

»  Comments | Post a Comment

A 19-year-old illegal immigrant from Woodbridge was charged Wednesday with abducting a man from East Coast Billiards in Woodbridge last year, stabbing him, robbing him and leaving him for dead.

The 46-year-old victim was only recently well enough to tell police what happened the night of Dec. 1, 2010.

Police say the victim, from Alexandria, met the suspect at the billiards hall at 13989 Jefferson Davis Highway, in the Marumsco Plaza shopping center, and went with him to a house on Franklin Street in Marumsco Hills.

It is unknown why the men went to the Franklin Street home.

The victim was stabbed at the house, then the attacker stole his car and took him to Fairfax County, police said. The culprit dumped the victim off Springfield Drive, near the Pohick Bay Regional Park in Lorton, without a cell phone, Prince William County police spokeswoman Michelle Nemerow said.

The stabbing victim somehow ended up in a nearby pond, but was able to crawl out and wave down a passerby to call 911, police said.

The attacker pawned the victim’s cell phone and ditched the victim’s car in Arlington, which police found a few days later, Nemerow said.

Gelber Boror, 19, was charged with abduction, aggravated malicious wounding, armed robbery, providing a false ID to law enforcement and grand larceny auto, Nemerow said.

He was held without bond, and faces a hearing May 31 in the General District Court.

Boror is an illegal immigrant and has been placed under a detainer by Immigrations and Customs Enforecement, Nemerow said. It's unclear what country he is from.
Boror apparently acted alone, police said.

Police said the victim spent months at Inova Fairfax Hospital recovering from his injuries before he was able to speak to authorities about the crime.
