Nizar Hussain, a Woodbridge doctor accused of inappropriately touching his patients pleaded no contest Wednesday morning to one count of assault and battery.
Prosecutors dropped all other charges against him.
He was sentenced to 12 months in jail, with all jail time suspended on the condition of his good behavior and that he have no contact with any of his alleged victims.
The Virginia Board of Medicine has suspended Hussain's medical license.
Hussain was arrested after several of his patients said he either inapproproately touched them or kissed them.
In court Wednesday, one woman who said Hussain inappropriately touched her testified that she is now afraid to go to the doctor and will never go alone again.
"I trusted him as my doctor and he took advantage of me," she said.
Another woman standing near the back of the court room burst into tears when the judge said Hussain would spend no time in jail.
"It' not enough," she said.
Defense attorney Peter Greenspun said he and his client had no comment following the hearing.
