Teen attacked in Lake Ridge at gunpoint
Two men and a woman assaulted a 16-year-old Woodbridge boy Wednesday night when he was walking home, police said.
The victim, and a male acquaintance, were in the 3200 block of Ridge View Court, near the Wildwood neighborhood of Lake Ridge around 11:36 p.m. when one of the men pulled out a handgun and struck the teen in the head, knocking him to the ground, Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok said.
Perok said a witness who saw the attack called police.
The assailants fled on foot, police said.
The victim described the men as being black 18 to 22-years-old, 150 pounds and brown eyes.
Perok said the gunman wore a white t-shirt, and was 5 foot 9 inches tall, with short black hair.
The second man was 5 foot 7 inches tall, with black hair, and was last seen wearing a red shirt, police said.
Their accomplice, a black female, was reportedly 17 to 18-years-old, 5 foot 4 inches tall, 110 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Manassas woman robbed of purse
Police are on the lookout for a man that they said stole a woman’s purse on Wednesday afternoon.
A 30-year-old Manassas woman was walking in the area of Aaron and Alder lanes, near the Amberton neighborhood around 3:23 p.m. when a man came up to her, Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok said.
The man forced the woman to turn around, searched her, and then stole her purse, Perok said.
Although she could not see them, the victim told police that three other people were there.
The woman, who was not injured, was told to walk away after the strong armed robbery, police said.
The victim described the suspect as a black man, 6 feet 2 inches tall, with a thin build, police said. She did not know how old he was.
Perok said the man was last seen wearing low sitting pants, a tank top and red boxers.
Gunshots heard near Woodbridge NOVA campus
Multiple callers told police that they heard gunshots in the area of U.S. 1 and Neabsco Mills Road, near the Northern Virginia Community College’s Woodbridge campus, around 1:38 a.m. on Thursday, police said.
Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok said the callers saw a black, low-sitting and “boxy” sedan with tinted windows and a gold logo on the truck leave the area at a high rate of speed.
Nobody could provide police a description of the car’s driver, or occupants, Perok said.
There were no injuries.
Manassas Park resident thwarts home burglary
A resident in the 8300 block of Glade Bank Drive, on the east side of Manassas Park, told police that they prevented a burglary from happening at their home on Wednesday morning, police said.
Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok said the victim saw two men in their backyard around 11:25 a.m., but they fled on foot once they realized they were seen.
Perok said they found a window screen on the ground at the home.
Nothing was reported missing.
Chair thrown at Manassas-area AT&T store façade
Somebody threw a metal chair through a window at a Manassas-area AT&T store on Wednesday morning, police said.
Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok said the damage at the store, which is located at 7650 Stream Walk Lane, in the Promenade at Manassas shopping center, happened sometime between 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, and 8 a.m. on Wednesday, police said.
Store employees reported to police that they did not find anything stolen.
Police did not think anyone got inside the store, Perok said.
Electronics, jewelry and money stolen from Woodbridge home
Electronics and jewelry, valued at around $1,600, as well as an undisclosed amount of money, were stolen from a home in the Greenwich Hills neighborhood of Woodbridge late Wednesday afternoon, police said.
Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok said the items were taken from a townhouse in the 13100 block of Putnam Circle sometime between 7:40 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Police believe the burglar(s) got into the home by going through an unlocked basement window.
Attempted burglary near Dumfries
A resident who lives in the 11600 block of Georgetown Road, in the Jefferson Woods neighborhood near Dumfries, told police that somebody tried to force his front door open sometime between midnight and 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok said.
Perok said that nobody got into the home, and nothing was stolen.
