Chris Royse is running once again for Woodbridge District Supervisor.

The 42-year-old Republican announced his intent to run for the seat currently occupied by Democrat Frank J. Principi during Monday night’s Prince William County Republican Committee meeting. Royse lost to Principi in a four-way race in 2007, garnering 32.7 percent of the votes to Principi’s 41.7.

Royse moved to Woodbridge 13 years ago and is the father of three children in the Prince William County Public School system. Royse said despite losing four years ago, he “never gave up on the community” and said that Woodbridge “has a lot of needs such as a quick and personal response when someone calls their supervisor.”

“I love my community and that is why I am running,” said Royse, who works for a global engineering firm and previously served as a member of the county’s Economic Development/Transportation Strategic Goal Task Force in 2008.

Both candidates are planning formal campaign announcements in the coming weeks.
