Three men charged in Manassas-area attempted robbery

Two Manassas-area men were charged in connection with a Thursday afternoon strong-armed robbery near Manassas, police said.

A 55-year-old man and a 7-year-old boy were in the 8300 block of Sudley Road, near Manassas Mall, at about 6:49 p.m. when three men came up to them and demanded money, Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok said.

The robbers got away after a brief altercation, but Perok said they were soon found.

One of the alleged robbers, Jermel Tyreen Thompson, 31, of the 10200 block of Winchester Court, in the Irongate neighborhood, was charged with with attempted robbery, assault & battery and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor (one charge for the two juveniles who were involved in the robbery), Perok said.

A 14 and 17-year-old, both of Manassas, were also charged with attempted robbery, but their identities were not released due to their age, Perok said.

Police did not have the three suspects’ court date or bond information immediately available.

 

Woodbridge-area man charged with leaving small child home alone

A Woodbridge-area man has been charged with leaving a 4-year-old girl home alone for less than two hours in the Rippon Landing neighborhood near Woodbridge on Friday morning, police said.

Two children at an area school told school faculty that the girl, a sibling of theirs, was left in the home, located in the 1800 block of Old Post Terrace, at 9:17 a.m., Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok said.

Police soon found out that the child, who was found unharmed, was supposed to be in the custody of Yves Ghislane Tchoukouani.

Perok said the girl had access to “unsafe objects” while left alone in the home.

Tchoukouani, 27, of the 1800 block of Old Post Terrace, was charged with felony reckless endangerment, Perok said.

He was released on a $3,000 unsecured bond.

Police did not have Tchoukouani’s court date immediately available.

 

Dale City man charged with pointing gun at motorist

A Dumfries woman told police that a man pointed a gun at her following a road rage incident on Friday afternoon, police said.

            The 41-year-old victim was driving in the area of U.S. 1 and Fox Lair Drive, near the Stonebridge neighborhood, around 4:49 p.m. when Winston Colon allegedly became aggravated and displayed the firearm, Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok said.

            Colon, 41, of the 3500 block of Emory Lane, near the Sedgwick Heights neighborhood, was charged with brandishing a firearm, Perok said.

            He was released on a summons, and has a court date of July 11.

            Prince William police did not release a mugshot of Colon.

 

Teen charged with sexually assaulting 7-year-old girl

A 13-year-old Manassas boy has been charged with sexually assaulting a 7-year-old girl on Friday, police said.

The victim told police that the boy assaulted her multiple times -- at least once in the 9900 block of King George Drive, in the West Gate of Lomond neighborhood -- for about a year, Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok said.

The boy was charged with two counts of aggravated sexual battery and two counts of indecent liberties by a child, Perok said.

The boy’s court date and bond information were not immediately available.

Police did not release the identity of either kid due to their age.

Two men assaulted by group

Two men told police that they were assaulted by a group of men on Saturday night while walking in the 14400 block of Jefferson Davis Highway, at the Prince William Shopping Center in Woodbridge, police said.

Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok said the victims -- 35 and 47-year-old men -- received minor injuries at 10 p.m. when the assault occurred.

The victims told police that their attackers were 16 to 18-years-old and were about 6 feet tall.


Police find bullet hole in car after shots fired call

Prince William police said that they received several reports of gunshots being heard in the area of Oakwood Drive and Dulcinea Place, near the Valleywood neighborhood of Lake Ridge around 5:10 p.m. on Saturday.

Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok said that they found a parked, unoccupied vehicle in the area that appeared to have a bullet hole in it.

Perok said that witnesses reported a red truck and a gold sedan whose drivers might have been firing at each other around the time, but the vehicles were not located.


Police investigate reports of gunshots heard

Police are investigating two separate reports of gunshots being fired in eastern Prince William county on Saturday morning.

Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok said that police were called to the area of Fuller Road and U.S. 1 in Triangle, near the Quantico Marine Corps Base, around 1:37 a.m. after callers said they heard several gunshots in the area.

Officers soon responded to the second call of shots heard in the 14500 block of Colchester Road, located in the Lynwood neighborhood of Woodbridge around 2:51 a.m.

No injuries, property damage or shooters were found in either case, police said.

It appears the two cases were not related.

Gun stolen from unlocked Dale City car

 

A Dale City resident told police that a handgun, magazine and bullets were stolen from his unlocked car parked in the 5400 block of Quaint Drive, near the Queensdale neighborhood of Dale City sometime between 4:30 p.m. on May 26 and 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok said.

 


Money stolen from Canova store

An undisclosed amount of money was stolen from the Wi-Not Stop store located at 13660 Dumfries Road, located next to the Woodbine Shopping Center near Canova, sometime between midnight and 4:55 a.m. on Saturday, Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok said.

Police believe the burglar(s) broke into the store by prying a rear door open.


Cooler stolen from Lake Ridge home

A cooler valued at about $40 was stolen from an attached garage at a home located in the 3700 block of Beaver Ford Road, near the Old Bridge Estates neighborhood of Lake Ridge sometime between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. on Thursday, Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok said.

Perok said there were no signs of forced entry.


Attempted burglary near Dale-City

A Dale City-area resident who lives in the 13300 block of Packard Drive, near Saunders Middle School, told police that somebody tried to break into their home through the front door sometime between midnight and 3 a.m. on Friday, Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok said.

Nothing was stolen.

 

Items stolen from Manassas car

A Manassas resident who lives in the 9000 block of Sandalwood Drive, near Baldwin Elementary School, told police that several items, valued at about $200 total, were stolen from his car sometime between 8 p.m. on Sunday and 5 a.m. on Monday, Manassas Police Lt. Brian Larkin said.

Police ask that anyone with information about the stolen items call Crime Solvers at 703-330-0330. Callers do not have to give their names or testify in court and may receive a reward of up to $1,000 for information that results in an arrest.

 

Stereo stolen from Manassas car

A car stereo, among other items, valued at over $2,000, were stolen sometime between 3 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. on Monday morning from a car parked in the 9100 block of Winterset Drive, near the Wellington Station shopping center, Manassas Police Lt. Brian Larkin said.

Police ask that anyone with information about the stolen items call Crime Solvers at 703-330-0330. Callers do not have to give their names or testify in court and may receive a reward of up to $1,000 for information that results in an arrest.
