Pit bull pups stolen from Manassas home

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Thieves broke into a Manassas townhouse Wednesday and stole two pit bull puppies, police said.

The dogs’ owner, who did not want her name published, said the 8-week-old purebred blue-nosed pit bulls were taken shortly after 2 p.m., while she was at a nearby PetSmart with “Ice” the mother dog.

She arrived home in the 9300 block of Gooseberry Drive around 4:30 p.m. and found the puppies missing as she was about to feed them.

“They must’ve seen me leave with Ice, or something,” the owner said of the burglars.

The culprits broke into the home through the back door, according to Manassas police Lt. Brian Larkin.

The owner did not see any sign of forced entry except for small marks next to the door handle, and slits in the adjacent weather sealing. The door was locked.

She does not know who stole the puppies.

“I don’t want to say any kids took them, but it is what it is—people do walk around the neighborhood and see me with Ice,” the owner said.

The puppies’ mother has been alternating between lying around and pacing the home, apparently looking for her missing puppies, the owner said.
