Homeowners, renters and business owners who are eligible for low-interest Small Business Administration loans have until Nov. 22 to take them, according to a press release from Rep. Gerald E. “Gerry” Connolly’s office.
Gov. Bob McDonnell recently got the administration to authorize the loans for those who lost property to flooding caused by Tropical Storm Lee.
Offices to apply for the loans open today in Prince William and Fairfax counties, according to the release.
The Prince William office is in suite 140 of the Ferlazzo Building at 15941 Donald Curtis Drive in Woodbridge and the Fairfax office is located in Room 125 of the South County Government Center at 8350 Richmond Highway in Alexandria.
The offices will be open from 10 am to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays from today through November 22.
“The window of opportunity is limited and I encourage those Northern Virginia residents, business, and non-profits who incurred property damage from Tropical Storm Lee to take advantage of this program,” said Connolly, a Democrat representing Prince William and Fairfax counties.
Eligible homeowners can get loans up to $200,000 to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate and up to $40,000 in loans to repair or replace damaged or destroyed personal property.
Businesses and nonprofit organizations may borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory, and other business assets.
SBA officials will be able to answer questions about the disaster loan program and take applications from affected parties, the release stated.
Homeowners, businesses and renters in the counties of Fairfax, Prince William, Arlington, Stafford, and Loudoun, and the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls Church, Manassas and Manassas Park may be eligible for the loans.
