Police charged a Gainesville man with assaulting a woman outside a bar early Sunday morning, police said.
The 25-year-old victim, of Bealeton, told police she was standing outside the MVP Bar and Grill, located at 7518 Old Linton Hall Road, Gainesville, at 12:31 a.m. when a car driven by Manuel Correa pulled up, Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok said.
Correa reportedly assaulted the victim after she got into his car, and tried to not let her leave, police said.
Correa, 44, of 14005 Clutterbuck Loop, was arrested without incident at the bar and was charged with abduction and assault and battery, Perok said.
He was held on a $7,500 secured bond.
Police did not have Correa’s court date immediately available.
