A Manassas-area man faces a slew of charges after Manassas police say he assaulted an officer Monday.
Sebastian Quintero Vergara of 10437 Monterosa Place is charged with assault on law enforcement, obstruction of justice by force, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, intoxicated in Public, and performing an obscene sexual display, Manassas City police spokesman Eddie Rivera said.
Police were called to the 9200 block of Hood Road for report of a fight on Monday. After arriving on the scene, officers told the accused several times to leave the area. The accused began making sexual gestures and cursing at the officers, Rivera said.
When the officers attempted to arrest Quintero Vergara, the accused struck one of the officers.
Quintero Vergara, 23, was held at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center with no bond. He has a court date set for Dec. 27.
