A Manassas man is charged with slashing the throat of a drinking buddy Sunday night.
Alfredo Hernandez Franco of 9813 Maury Lane is charged with malicious wounding, Manassas City police spokesman Eddie Rivera said.
About 8 p.m. Sunday, police responded to the 9800 block of Maury Lane for report of a stabbing.
The victim told police he was drinking with Hernandez Franco when the accused pulled out a folding knife and slashed the victim’s neck.
The victim suffered a sixinch superficial wound to his neck.
Hernandez Franco, 49, was still on the scene when officers arrived and placed him under arrest.
He was held at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center with no bond and has a Jan. 19 court date set.
