Police on Tuesday identified a man found dead in Dale City on Dec. 13, and ruled the case a suicide.

Surveyors found the body of George Astrit Kallajxhi, 58, about 350 to 400 feet in the wood near the intersection of Dale Boulevard and Benita Fitzgerald Drive, said Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok.

Family reported Kallajxhi missing Sept. 21. Perok said police found a handgun at the scene.

Kallajxhi had no fixed address.

The Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the death a suicide from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, Perok said.

Staff writer David Pierce can be reached at 703-530-3905.
