A Fredericksburg man faces embezzlement charges after police said he stole computers from Prince William County over the last decade.

James David Einhorn is charged with stealing 20 laptops, valued at $2,000 total, that were going to be sold by the county between 2001 and 2004, Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok said.

Einhorn, at the time, was employed with a contracting company the county hired, Perok said.

The name of the contracting company wasn't released.

Police learned about the alleged thefts after Einhorn recently took a polygraph test while applying for a job with Prince William County, Perok said.

Einhorn, 43, of 11505 Tuck Trail, is charged with embezzlement, Perok said.

He was released on his own recognizance, and has a court date of April 4.
