Monday is the deadline for Virginia residents to register to vote if they wish to participate in the state's Republican presidential primary on March 6.
Virginia does not register individuals by political party, so the primary is open to all registered voters. The Republican Party briefly considered asking primary voters to sign a loyalty oath to support the GOP nominee, but ultimately the party opted against it.
Registration forms must be received by Monday or postmarked by Monday if sent in by mail. The forms can be downloaded from the websites of local election boards in northern Virginia.
Only two candidates — Mitt Romney and Ron Paul — qualified to appear on the Virginia ballot.
