Police investigated a bomb threat at Cedar Point Elementary School in Bristow on Wednesday afternoon.

The school at 12601 Braemar Parkway was evacuated after a note indicating there was a bomb was found in a bathroom at 12:30 p.m.

Children were waiting outside nearby, and parents are advised not to come to the school.

Police used a bomb-sniffing dog to sweep the building and did not find any bombs, Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok said.

Prince William County Public Schools spokesman Phil Kavits said the school’s students and faculty were not in danger.

“Nobody was at risk,” Kavits said.

The school has since reopened, police said.
